Practically perfect...
catalogliving: Gary kicked off his hemp loafers in a hurry because judging from the other items in the foyer, Mary Poppins was in the living room. I THINK YOU KNOW HOW MUCH I LOVE THIS

You know how when you're wearing gloves, you can't...
So it’s cold here. I’m wearing gloves a lot. Like ya do when it’s cold. I set off across campus with my phone to my ear. I dialed before I left the warmth of the building. The call went to voice mail. I had no need to leave a voice mail (I was calling John and knew he would - and he did - call me back shortly). In order to hang up the phone, I had to touch the “End...

I need to stop procrastinating and start...
I want a cookie. I do not have a cookie. I need to go to the library. Going to the library and working means I will not see the sun. I desperately need the sun. Seriously, Akron is unceasingly sunny in the summer and unceasingly cloudy in the winter. That shit need to average out a little more. Budget billing for sunshine. I can’t decide whether to go in sweats or nicer slacks so I can go...

This made me cry. In a good way. →
The story is about Rep. Giffords and how she hasn’t been told what happened to her, or that others, including her close aide and her friend were killed, or that 13 people were wounded. It also talks about how her family reacted to the event. But here’s the part that made me cry: [Gifford’s husband, Mark] Kelly said he draws strength from the outpouring of public support for the...

I received the first of three W-2s yesterday.
It was the one that started in Kansas City, was mailed 200 miles to my old address in St Louis, and the post office stuck a forwarding address and sent it 500 miles to northeast Ohio. The two schools I work for now, the ones within 20 miles of my address? Nothing. Oh, and the City of St Louis, the completely dysfunctional city, also managed to get the city income tax form to me, 500 miles...

kellyoxford: The majority of pro-gun Americans seem to always be chanting ‘It’s my RIGHT!’ Do these people realize that in Canada you also have the right to own a gun and ammo? IT’S TRUE!!! Oh, but I hate to tell you that your freedoms are encroached because silencers are illegal, ‘cause those are for…

jincorrigible: My most beloved Tree, as long as you promise me you will never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever (times infinity) give up chocolate for Lent EVER again, I will support you in whatever endeavor you may pursue. ♥ (And even if you do such a foolish thing, I’ll still support you.  BFF code of honor and all that. ♥) I promise I will not do that again <3

new years resolutions!
I haven’t come up with New Years Resolutions since probably middle school. When I was a kid, I’d come up with something because people were asking what my NYR was, and I’d say something cliche. (I’m going to get good grades! Be nicer to my siblings! Lose weight! Yes, I wanted to lose weight in seventh grade.) I’d forget what I’d resolved by the second week of...
